Hand-built in Bakersfield, CA, the J-6 is designed to make your guitar sound like your guitar — just pushed harder. It's an always-on overdrive that stays out of the way until you need it to step up, with just three controls: Level, Gain, and a Tone knob with real range, so you can dial in anything from a subtle push to a fuller drive without losing your core sound.

Packaging was eye catching. The red and white theme was carried throughout, but the red tissue paper really told me something cool was happening here. '73 tele deluxe into a Sovtek Mig50 into a Marshall 1960. Quiet, transparent, clear. It can crank too! Stacks well with other fuzz pedals. Very fine pedal.

What I love most about the J-6 is that it just sweetens everything I throw at it. Strat with low gain boosting into an amp on the edge of break up? Its just MORE of that. Clean pedal platform with the gain dimed? Sweet singing sustain for leads. The tone control can dull some of that ice pick you get out of bridge pickups sometimes and just give you some really great warm amp like tones. My favorite way to use it is to run the gain down and boost into an amp with a lot of character to just let the amp bloom a little more. Killer pedal and I'm excited to see what they come out with next!

Pedal has nice fit and finish, the red looks great with the white lettering and knobs. The pedal has some color to its voicing, but is able to retain tone of pickups and instrument and give a little cream to your playing. Very usable OD by itself, and can be used in conjunction with other OD pedals to stack gain and tone.
